Oil Changes Eugene Oregon

Keep on top of regular maintenance like oil changes to lengthen the life of your vehicle.

Oil Change Service:

Getting your oil changed is an essential part of maintaining and protecting your engine. Its main purpose is to lubricate all the moving parts of your engine while keeping them clean and cool. Will’s Auto Repair ensures you get the right type of oil for your vehicle needs and keeps you informed when the best times to have your vehicle serviced.

When do I need to get my oil changed?

Typically, most vehicles get an oil change around every 3,000 miles or every six months. This will vary based on driving frequency, driving habits, vehicle age, and quality of oil being used. Many newer vehicles can stand to go a little longer on oil changes, but if you’re uncertain, have Will’s Auto check your oil level.

All vehicles should have a warning light to indicate if you need an oil change. It’s to get your oil changed as soon as you are able when this light comes on. Some warning lights will flash meaning you need an oil change while a steady light indicates you’re due for an oil and filter change.

Other Factors to Consider

If your engine is making knocking or grinding noises it’s never made before, it may be indicating you need an oil change. These noises are due to not engine parts not being properly lubricated which means these parts are rubbing together when they shouldn’t be.

If you catch a whiff of a burning smell, your engine might be trying to tell you it needs its oil changed. This burning smell happens when oil gets old and dirty which results in no longer being able to properly regulate your engine’s temperature and lubricate engine parts.

It’s always a good idea to check your engine oil level. Driving with low or no oil can increase the risk of engine damage or possible breakdown.
